A thousand bad drawings

They say you have to do 1000 bad drawings/ paintings to get it out of your system till you start making really good art. So I just have to do them. And here's one. The perspective is wonkie. And I didn't do any lighting stuffs. Just playing with style and...just making mistakes so I can improve. There you go.

An Evening Together

This was me and my hubby tonight. Usually we're on the couch "pretending" to work, with our computers on our laps. Today we moved to the table, which was a nice and necessary change of routine. I thought it was a real sweet moment, until I started to draw it. Which drawing moments always frustrate me because it never looks the way I want it to, as fast as I want it to. For some reason all of the sudden I should be able to draw something outstanding in two minutes (because that's as far as my attention span will reach at those moments, as you can see with this terrible rough and horridly rushed sketch). It's just that I wanted to capture the moment, cuz when I started the drawing, I was beginning to think "see I can work, and be with family!" ....and then two seconds later I was terribly irritated because the table kept getting bumped. (which was not David's fault in the slightest, I just get easily irritated while drawing cuz it's never going the way I want it to.) But imagine if three little kids were running around. I'd be going crazy.

It's Time to Dream

I don't often actually write on my blog. But maybe that's about to change? I keep reflecting on whether I should start a brand new blog that I would write stuff, but I might as well work with what I have, eh? So - the Four Hour Work Week (you can find the audiobook via youtube) told me to write down my dreams and share them with someone, so here in this blog I am doing both. What do I want... What would a perfect world look like for me? Traveling. Drawing. Sharing the Plan of Salvation, answering questions of the soul. Making funny cartoons. Hm. That's a lot of variety. It would be wicked sweet to have a travel blog, where I could make funny cartoons, and post interviews about my conversations with people about their beliefs, and then add a caricature. Would people read it? How would I find the funds to travel? Could I travel and have kids? If I kickstarted a book that would include my comics and paintings from travel, would people buy it? Or is more of something that would be interesting to people just through a blog? Since people don't buy coffee table books that often? These are my dreams. And my doubts.

Watercolor Journal

Had a fantastic week at Newport Beach with the Pace family. My palette got sand in it, and some of the sand got on the painting, which seemed appropriate because it just got more of Newport on it. :D I loved being with the family, and forgetting all stress or worries, and just played in the sand.
